The "Chemin de Régordane" crosses the canton of Villefort on a North-South axis passing through La Bastide Puylaurent, Prévenchères, La Garde Guérin, Villefort, St André Capcèze and Vielvic. It follows a geological fault which forms a particularly visible natural path in Villefort. In the Middle Ages, this path was used for the transport of goods between Le Puy en Velay and Montpellier via Alès and Nîmes, but also for pilgrims who went to the abbey of Saint Gilles du Gard towards Nîmes from Le Puy en Velay. . Towards the end of the 14th century, the path was abandoned for more profitable routes in the Rhone Valley and gradually fell into oblivion. Nevertheless we can now travel this path on foot, by car and even by train. Information, Villefort Tourist Office: 04.66.46.87.30
