The Church of Our Lady of the Assumption in Saint-Chély-du-Tarn, listed as a Historical Monument, is mentioned as early as 1155. It was dependent on the priory of Sainte-Enimie. The building's orange color comes from the materials used in its construction: limestone and tufa. Inside, it consists of a single nave separated from the chancel by a screen, which opens onto a polygonal apse decorated with a five-sided arcade, flanked by two apsidal chapels. Particular care was taken with the triumphal arch, with its two transverse arches resting on columns, one of which is adorned with Corinthian capitals. Two chapels forming a transept were also built near the chancel, each housing an altar framed by columns and surmounted by a triangular pediment. The whole church is painted with a light plaster, except for the vault of the apse, which is painted with a starry sky, and the two chapels which are covered with a pale blue.
