Our gaze lingers on a chapel, the ruins of a castle or a hamlet perched on a hilltop.
From a small bread oven to the remains of a fortified house, there is always a surprise to be discovered.
Discovering traces of the past in unexpected places,
sometimes very difficult to reach, never ceases to amaze us.
These are the castles open to the public via guided tours or withrestricted access.

Often in ruins… sometimes privately owned… some parts of these castles are open to the public.
However, we advise you to take precautions, as not all the castle ruins are secure, and it is always best to check with your nearest tourist information office for further details.
These castles, whether inhabited year-round or only occasionally, are rarely open for guided tours.
However, at certain times of the year – particularly during Heritage Days – some owners do open their estates, much to the delight of enthusiasts.
Other castles open their doors by appointment.
