FÉDÉRATION DE LA LOZÈRE POUR LA PÊCHE ET LA PROTECTION DU MILIEU AQUATIQUE

The federation promotes recreational fishing in the department and, since 2010, has offered two specialized fishing facilities on the lakes of Naussac and Villefort. The fish that inhabit the 2,800 kilometers of rivers, torrents, and streams in Lozère are primarily salmonids. All the department's waters are classified as first category, and brown trout are found everywhere. Lozère is unique for fishing. The beauty of the natural setting, to which no one can remain indifferent, as well as the number and diversity of its waterways, make this department one of the leading French, and even European, destinations for river fishing. Fishing is above all an intimate relationship with the various elements that make up our environment. The angler is a lover of our countryside, and even if sometimes the tales of their catches (or their blanks!) are somewhat exaggerated, they primarily reflect the discreet and peaceful image of perfect harmony between humankind and nature.
