LAC DE SAINT-ANDEOL

in Marchastel
  • This 11-hectare glacial lake is probably the best known on the Aubrac plateau. Located in the commune of Marchastel, it regularly sees hikers on the Way of Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle pass by. The peat bogs surrounding it are full of plant and animal species specific to these wetlands: the Eurasian curlew, the Drosera rotundifolia, the spiny-spored quillwort, the lake quillwort, etc. Source : Conservatoire des sites lozérien, ZNIEFF inventory
