This circuit runs along the southern flank of the Boulaine mountain, an ancient massif of metamorphic rocks, micaschists, at the contact between the granite of Margeride and the limestone of the Causses. You will notice that the traditional architecture is different from that of the Causses: Buildings close to those of Margeride but darker because of the black and more or less glossy micaschists. The part of the trail which follows the "draille" (old transhumance route) offers magnificent panoramas of the Aubrac and Margeride to the North and of Mont-Lozère and the Causses to the South. CAUTION: Tricky ford crossing after heavy rain. Markings : yellow. Download the details of the route (route, elevation, explanations, step by step, ...) in PDF format
