Mountain bike trail No. 1 in the Heart of Lozère, entitled " The Dead Villages ," is designed for families with children who know how to ride a bike and are starting out in mountain biking on trails. We also recommend it to beginners who want to discover mountain biking at a leisurely pace. Along your route, you will discover the two dead villages of the Causse de Mende: Le Gerbail and La Chaumette . These two hamlets were completely emptied of their inhabitants in the mid-20th century. Enjoy your ride! Road access : From the Place du Foirail in Mende, take the RD 25 (first street on the right) towards "Causse de Mende" for 2.6 km. Continue straight ahead at the junction towards "Croix du Mont-Mimat - Ermitage" for 1 km. Continue straight ahead at the junction towards "Croix du Mont-Mimat - Ermitage" for 500 meters. The trailhead is located near the Dinopédia Park. Ample parking is available, inviting you to park and begin mountain bike trail #1. See all FFC-certified mountain bike trails around Mende .
