LAC DE SAINT-ANDEOL

in Marchastel
  • This 11-hectare glacial lake is undoubtedly the best known on the Aubrac plateau. Located in the town of Marchastel, it regularly sees hikers on the way to Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle pass. The peat bogs that surround it are full of plant and animal species specific to these wetlands: the Eurasian curlew, the sundew rotundifolia, the quillwort with spiny spores, the quillwort of the lakes, etc. Source: Conservatoire des sites lozérien, ZNIEFF inventory
